Dixfield's Boston Post Cane Recipient

Dixfield's Boston Post Cane recipient, Eva Sassi Taylor, was presented with flowers, chocolates and a plaque on Monday, April 28, 2008 by Board of Selectmen Chair Bettina M. Martin and Town Manager Thomas F. Richmond.  Mrs. Taylor will be 99 on October 26, 2008.  She worked for over 20 years in Central Services at the Rumford Hospital and has lived in Dixfield for about 23 years.  She's also a great Red Sox fan and loves Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz.  Mrs. Taylor is the mother of two, has nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild with three more on the way.  The town extends its very best wishes to Mrs. Taylor as the town's most elderly citizen.

Veterans Info

We have posted a list of veterans who are buried in Dixfield. The list contains the complete names of Dixfield Veterans from the Dunn, Eddy, Eustis, Holman, Science Hill and Severy Hill Cemeteries only; Greenwood and Riverside Cemeteries have not been completed.  Hopefully this will be accomplished by late fall.  If you should notice an error, discrepancy or omission, please contact the Dixfield Town Office at PO Box 808, Dixfield, ME 04224-0808 or email the Town Office Staff at charlottedeptreas@verizon.net.  We'll make every effort to correct the error or include someone we've missed.  Our goal is to compile the most accurate list of our Veterans as possible.
